God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. He rested satisfied and commanded man to do as he did. But things had taken a turn for the worse as far as Creation was concerned. Humankind went on to observe a Day of Rest but had kept a blind eye to what was happening to earth. God had earned his Sabbath because he had done great and marvelous works in the six days past. We could only imagine how God must have felt when he rested (he must be smiling in his sleep). Any day of rest was a good one, which was probably the reason man had been so faithful to keep it and yet… destroyed the very reason behind.
